It is with heavy hearts that we share the somber news of the passing of Hugo, the beloved rescue dog and namesake of Hugo Coffee Roasters. Hugo, cherished companion to Claudia McMullin, Founder and CEO, crossed the rainbow bridge this week, leaving behind a legacy of joy, compassion, and an undeniable spirit that will continue to inspire our work and community endeavors.
Hugo, the rescue dog who inspired the founder, Claudia McMullin to found her cause-based coffee company, leaves behind a legacy of animal rescue.
Hugo’s story began with rescue and ended with an everlasting impact on our lives and company. His playful antics, loving demeanor, and fiesty spirit not only filled Claudia’s life with happiness but also inspired the foundation of Hugo Coffee Roasters. His story exemplified our mission: to craft high quality coffee while giving back to animals in need, ensuring they receive the love, care, and homes they deserve.

“Hugo was more than a pet; he was my failed foster pup and the spirit behind our brand. His unbounded joy and loving nature inspired me every day and drove our mission to give back to rescue organizations,” shared Claudia, “His legacy, embedded in every bean roasted and cup brewed, will perpetuate our commitment to supporting dog rescues and ensuring more stories like his.”

As we mourn the loss of our furry friend, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting dog rescues and shelters, a cause that was incredibly close to the Hugo team’s heart. We invite our loyal customers and community members to join us in celebrating Hugo’s life and legacy by sharing their own stories of their rescued pets or condolences on our social media pages, where we will be creating a tribute to honor Hugo’s life and his significant impact on our community and furry friends alike.
“While we navigate through this period of loss, we find solace in the memories and love Hugo shared with us. His paws may have departed this world, but his prints will forever remain on our hearts and mission,” Claudia expressed.
Hugo Coffee Roasters would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of support and condolences received during this time. We look forward to continuing Hugo’s legacy by saving dogs with every sip of our coffee.
